Important Limits (Safety & Compliance)

- Safety first: We don’t enter areas deemed unsafe (live wires, structural collapse, active floodwaters, severe winds) until appropriate authorities or licensed trades say it’s safe. When we arrive on site, we can assess the situation at the scene & update you on what next steps are.

- Visual & non-invasive: We don’t climb roofs, remove sheeting or perform structural repairs.

- No licensed work: We don’t carry out electrical, gas or plumbing repairs; we coordinate licensed trades on your behalf to have your property back to normal.

- Make-safe: Light temporary measures only (locks/closures, path clearance); tarping/boarding (if make-safe is deemed to be dangerous i.e. heights involved; we will liaise with qualified contractors)

- Access & rules: Access is subject to owner/property manager approval & building/strata policies.

  • Yes; you can arrange immediate make-safe works (e.g., securing openings, stopping leaks, isolating power) without waiting for an assessor. Take clear photos/video, keep receipts, and contact your insurer as soon as possible. Avoid non-urgent permanent repairs until they approve, and don’t discard damaged items unless there’s a health risk. (Policies differ—always check your PDS and follow your insurer’s instructions.)

    • Secure openings: board/cover broken windows or doors; arrange emergency tarping by a roofer.

    • Stop further water damage: isolate the water source, mop/extract pooled water; ventilate where appropriate.

    • Isolate obvious electrical risks: switch off affected circuits; don’t touch wet switchboards—call a licensed electrician.

    • Prevent secondary loss: protect contents from weather, move items off wet floors if safe.

    • Once the situation is assessed & confirmed to be a hazard/emergency; engage licensed trades or specialists as soon a possible.

  • We Photograph/video everything before and after make-safe (close-ups + wide shots; include street/context if relevant).

    We recommend you:

    • Notify your insurer early and get a claim/reference number; ask if they’ll organise trades for you.

    • Avoid non-urgent, permanent repairs until your insurer approves.

    We will not don’t discard damaged items unless there’s a health risk. If we must; we will ensure to photograph them thoroughly first.

  • If it’s safe and permitted, we can attempt a basic reset to restore essentials (e.g., fridge, pool). If it trips again or we suspect a fault, we’ll isolate and escalate to a licensed electrician.

  • We make safe what we can and coordinate licensed trades for glazing, tarps, or repairs. We’ll document everything for your insurer. Due to its urgent nature, in the event of an emergency glass/roof repair, you are permitted to make-safe immediately before waiting days for an assessor to attend the site to approve make-safes.

  • Attendance is subject to availability, conditions and safe access. Tell us your urgency and we’ll offer the earliest feasible option.

  • We provide an evidence pack (photos/video/report) and, if you wish, collect quotes and supervise access. Insurers decide outcomes; our role is to make the facts clear.

  • We can clear minor debris from entrance paths for safety. Larger clean-ups or tree work are arranged via specialist contractors.
